Ærø is served by five ferries - including one fully electric ferry and one hybrid - with departures throughout the day.
You travel to Ærø primarily by ferry
Travel by car or public transport and take the ferry from the southern part of either Fyn or Jutland. By car, the total travel time is approx. 3.5 hours from Billund Airport and around 3 hours from Copenhagen Airport (incl. ferry). Public transport is also possible; buses connect all ferry ports, and Svendborg is also served by train. Plan your route with the Danish journey planner app Rejseplanen.
You will find Ærø's three biggest marinas in Marstal, Ærøskøbing and Søby, and a small one in the small town of Ommel. The three largest are all close to town, shopping and a host of island activities.
Fly taxi with Starling Air, based at Ærø Airfield just outside Marstal. There are several daily departures to Ærø from Zealand and Tåsinge.
