Join the locals on Ærø for a lovely weekend of culture and Danish hygge when Lights in the Dark is on first weekend of November.

In November and December, the fairy-tale town of Ærøskøbing opens its doors to a truly special Christmas market set in beautiful, authentic surroundings.

Fastelavn (a sort of shrovetide) on Ærø is a big event for both children and adults. Traditions like masks and "raslebørn" (children going door-to-door for treats) are a fixed part of the annual program, and it's easy to join in.

Ærøskøbing Grand Prix is a fun soapbox race that is run every year in week 42. Children aged 8-16 can participate and are the race is run in three classes.
